Reputation Architects strikes many people as an unusual name for a communications firm. That’s totally intentional. We chose our less-than-obvious moniker to spark questions and inspire conversations about a subject that companies far too often treat as an afterthought.

Jon Goldberg

Founder & Chief Reputation Architect

Jon Goldberg is the founder and chief reputation architect of Reputation Architects Inc., an award-winning strategic communications and reputation risk management advisory firm dedicated to building, protecting and restoring reputations in a world of evaporated trust and unprecedented stakeholder engagement.

Trained as a journalist, Jon founded Reputation Architects in 2009 after more than 25 years as an advisor to corporate and non-profit executives and boards and a senior leader at some of the world’s most prominent communications firms and a front-line spokesman for major corporations and non-profit organizations.

An expert in reputation risk and crisis management, planning, training and team-building, Jon has helped countless organizations enhance reputation and trust, inoculate against reputational harm and transform challenging situations into opportunities to demonstrate leadership and integrity. His crisis management experience runs the gamut from government investigations; regulatory inquiries and criminal indictments, to cyberattacks and data breaches; technology and business continuity failures; food, drug and consumer product recalls; class action and mass tort litigation; environmental disasters; workplace violence; harassment and discrimination claims; labor disputes; and activist attacks.

Before founding Reputation Architects, Jon was partner and leader of the Corporate Affairs practice of Porter Novelli, the international communications consultancy. Earlier, he was executive vice president and general manager at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and Edelman’s national director of crisis and litigation communications, and served in senior client management roles at J. Walter Thompson. He began his public relations career as manager of corporate media relations for The Prudential Insurance Company.

A frequent author, speaker and media commentator at the intersection of reputation, risk, culture and technology, Jon is a past chair of the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors Academy and currently serves on its executive committee. He holds a BA degree in journalism and an MBA in finance, both from New York University.

Bennett Kleinberg - Senior Counsel

Bennett advises prominent organizations, law firms and individuals in connection with complex reputation risk challenges, including business missteps, malfeasance, government investigations, whistleblower litigation, labor and workplace matters, civil rights cases and other high-profile issues. Bennett holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a master's degree in journalism and mass communications from New York University.

Joyce Callo - Multimedia Director/Producer

Joyce is an Emmy Award-winning writer and director and the creative visionary and technical perfectionist behind Reputation Architects’ award-winning video work. Prior to earning her MFA in writing/directing with honors from Columbia University, Joyce was co-head of global video production at Edelman, where she produced everything from b-roll to multi-camera, multi-location live global events, and more VNRs and celebrity SMTs than she cares to admit. When not chasing the perfect cloud with her crew, Joyce continues to work on her own feature and short film projects, which have won numerous awards and played to critical acclaim at dozens of film festivals around the world.

Gary Spanedda - Design & Production Director

Gary has held senior creative management roles at Revlon, MasterCard Worldwide, Estee Lauder and Eastman Kodak, and is a founding partner of the boutique branding agency, Think Brands NYC. In addition to directing print production, quality assurance and creative workflow, Gary advises clients on digital asset management and other topics. Gary graduated from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford with a BFA in commercial arts and photography.

Joann Krakowski - Account Manager

Joann specializes in social media management, content development, e-mail marketing, digital advertising and analytics for a wide range of clients. She has extensive experience working with hospitals, physician practices, medical spas, educational institutions, non-profits and luxury consumer brands. Joann began her communications career in multi-cultural marketing, creating content in English and Spanish for both digital and traditional media platforms. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Quinnipiac University.

Phil Vehap - Creative Director

Phil Vehap has more than 20 years of experience in print and multimedia design, visual merchandising and events spanning consumer products, health care, retail, senior living, beauty and fashion. As director of global visual merchandising at Avon, Phil led the rollout of the company’s inaugural retail initiatives on four continents. He also served as senior director of advertising and events at Saks Fifth Avenue and is a founding partner of the boutique branding agency, Think Brands NYC. Phil graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in Graphic Design and Advertising and is a tenured adjunct professor at FIT.
